As longstanding residents and business owners in the Southeastern MA area, the Morse family has always been strongly committed to giving back to the towns we serve, including Norton, Bridgewater, Easton, and Marion MA. In one sense, we feel that we are simply returning the favor for all the support that we have received over the years from our clients and partners. We also give back because we want to help preserve the nonprofit organizations that have done so much for the communities and neighbors we love. Morse, Of Course, hopes that by highlighting our relationship with just a few of these phenomenal organizations in our community, we will encourage others to volunteer, to participate, and to assist in any way they can.
Organizations We Support
For Our Residents of Easton
While this strictly volunteer organization does an incredible amount of good for the residents of Easton, MA, they would rather you not know about it. However, Morse decided to blow their cover, just a little, because we passionately believe in the vision of this nonprofit. The primary assistance that FORE offers is financial support during the holidays. They raise enough money and gifts-in-kind every year to distribute hundreds of gift cards to underprivileged kids who can then truly enjoy the holiday season. FORE has also established a scholarship that provides a set amount of money every year for four years to college students. If you would like to get involved with FORE, please contact Dan for more information.
Children’s Museum in Easton
Since 1991, there has been strong community support for the Children’s Museum in Easton, and Morse Insurance has been one of the most enthusiastic businesses behind the opening of this magical place. The Museum is truly a treasure to have in our community, especially given it is the only children’s museum between Boston and Providence. Our Morse team, along with our families, join over 50,000 visitors annually, who come to explore art, science, math, music, and literacy and play in the Old Fire Station, the enchanting Wild Place, and the outdoor learning center. Morse Insurance continues to be a proud charitable supporter of the Children’s Museum and to promote its tremendous goal of inspiring children and families to become lifelong learners.
Easton Location of Old Colony YMCA
Most, if not all, members of the Easton community have used the resources of the Old Colony YMCA. Whether you joined up for the kids’ swim lessons, the adult fitness classes, or the family educational and social opportunities, we are sure that you, and probably generations of your family, have benefitted from this amazing non-profit being right in our own backyard since 1887. The Morse Insurance team recognizes the importance of maintaining the Easton Branch YMCA and all its valuable programs so that it can continue to serve hundreds of thousands of individuals annually. That’s why we are proud to provide charitable support to this Easton landmark and ensure that the YMCA’s values of caring, honesty, responsibility, and respect continue to be taught for yet another century and beyond.
SOWMA (School On Wheels Massachusetts)
In 2004, SOWMA Founder Cheryl Opper started a simple backpack donation program at her kitchen table to help provide much-needed educational supplies to children in local communities experiencing homelessness. From these humble beginnings, and with the help of countless volunteers and sponsors, SOWMA now supports homeless youth in 38 communities across Massachusetts. The nonprofit has expanded its services to offer tutoring and mentoring programs that begin with children as young as four years old and continue throughout their academic career and beyond. Morse Insurance is a proud supporter of SOWMA’s yearly fundraising events, such as its Annual Gala and “Run, Walk & Wag for Kids,” which help to fulfill SOWMA’s mission of changing a child’s cycle of homelessness through academics.
In Control
At Morse, we have always emphasized the importance of additional driver training for new and experienced drivers, alike. We believe that every one of us can benefit from courses that will give us more confidence behind the wheel and more tools for driving safely on today’s busy roads. That’s why we are such strong advocates for In Control, a non-profit organization that offers the nation’s first state certified crash preventing training to drivers of all ages. We have developed a wonderful partnership with the In Control foundation, which has trained over 30,000 students, specifically preparing them to handle emergency vehicle situations. Morse proudly offers monetary support to the foundation in order to help advance a mutual mission of reducing automobile crashes, particularly among teenage drivers. In addition, the relationship we have built with In Control provides sensational benefits to Morse insurance clients; you receive a $30 discount on In Control classes and, when you graduate from your course, you may qualify for additional discounts on your car insurance.
CSCC of Bridgewater Food Pantry
As long time residents of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, Morse, of course, is proud to support the Central Square Congregational Church of Bridgewater (CSCC) and its food pantry program. For many years, the CSCC food pantry, led by Jack Melcher, has been feeding the great people of Bridgewater. The local pantry accepts donations, including non-perishable food and household items, each week Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and again on Sundays from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Their dedication to feeding the deserving families and individuals of Bridgewater is admirable, and we hope you’ll join Morse Insurance in our commitment to support this local non-profit organization.
Easton Food Pantry
When our neighbors and fellow business owners need help, Morse takes action. That is why we are proud to share that we support the amazing men and women that make up the Easton Food Pantry organization. Committed to feeding the individuals and families of Easton, the steadfast volunteers wake up each morning excited to help others. Since opening their doors and hearts in 1978, the local food pantry has dedicated its time, energy and resources into assisting the less fortunate year-round. The non-profit’s motto is “As long as there are hungry people in our community, our doors and hearts will be open to help.” And after supporting this organization for a number of years, we have to say –this statement truly embodies their dedication to serving others.
Cupboard of Kindness
Supporting the town of Norton is not only the goal of Cupboard of Kindness, but a way of life for the dedicated staff. Morse, of course, is proud to partner with an organization that is committed to ensuring that our neighbors never go hungry. Located next to the Town Hall in an attached garage, the pantry program distributes food on the first and third Monday of every month. Since its inception in 2001, Cupboard of Kindness has been providing food, personal care, and health aid items at no cost to the local community. The good that they have done in the town of Norton is immeasurable, and Morse Insurance is thrilled to continue to support such a deserving non-profit organization.
Gifts for Kids
Gifts for Kids is an organization dedicated to collecting and distributing toys, games, books, and clothing to low-income families in and around Norfolk County during the holiday season. With the generous help of the community, Gifts for Kids is able to support almost 1,200 local children and their families. Their mission to ensure that every child has a holiday gift to open, regardless of financial status, is inspiring. Their annual toy drive runs from November to Mid-December beginning on Black Friday. Nothing compares to the joy of a child during the holidays, and Morse, of course, is delighted to continue to back an organization that is dedicated to making that possible.
